She was born May 22, 1937 in Omaha to Albert J. and Emily (Steidle) Blocher. On Aug. 20, 1955 she married Richard McCall in Lexington and to this union, they were blessed with five children; Deborah, Patricia, Denise, Douglas and Pamela. We can only imagine the joy in heaven as our mother ran to meet Jesus and is ever so happy to be reunited with her beloved husband, Richard. She was a loving housewife, devoted mother and enjoyed working outside the home as a secretary at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Joplin, Mo. Upon moving to York in the fall of 1979, she began working as a secretary for Cornerstone Bank and Sunflower Carriers where she retired. Annaliese was also a member of the St. Joseph Altar Society, volunteered her time with her husband for Meals on Wheels and delivered flowers over the Holidays for McNeil Floral. Annaliese also dedicated time for St. Joseph Catholic School cutting soup labels and box tops for the children.
She was a loving housewife, and thoroughly enjoyed raising her five children. Along with her family, she enjoyed camping, fishing (normally catching the biggest and most fish). She loved gardening, and over the years she found great joy in caring for their family pets, especially, Snooks, Missie, Lady and Peppie.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Ron) Makovicka of York, Patricia (Dwight) DeBusk of Riverton, Kan. and Denise (Gale) Naber of Waco; son, Douglas (Lois) McCall of Joplin, Mo. and daughter, Pamela (Mike) Brackhan of York. She is also survived by her 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, along with sister-in-law, Donna (Dean) Snyder of York; brother-in-law, Robert (Coeta) McCall of Granby, Mo.; sister-in-law, Alice Galaway of McCool Junction; brother-in-law, George (Diane) McCall of York; sister-in-law, Christine Bernt of Lincoln along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a host of friends, along with special friends Larry (Judy) Johnson, Jerry (Sue) Hoeft, and Darlene Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Richard McCall; two brothers, Tommy and Albert; brothers-in-law, Bruce Bernt and Larry Galaway; sisters-in-law, Barbara Blocher; niece Kristen McCall and great-grandson, Gabriel Hosfelt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Monsignor James Reinert officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, York.
A rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 at Metz Mortuary. Family will greet friends after the rosary. Visitation will be held between the hours of 1 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, and all day Wednesday at the mortuary.
Memorials may be given to the York County Aging Partners, York Adopt-a-Pet, York Crisis Pregnancy Center, and to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
