    Ardis G. Epke, age 90 of Lincoln, NE died Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Omaha, NE. She was born February 24, 1928 to Alfred and Edna (Leybold) Burhoop in Utica, NE. She was baptized on February 24, 1928 at home and confirmed June 1, 1941 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. On May 23, 1946 she graduated from York High School.
    Ardis was united in marriage to Ralph Gerhard Epke on September 19, 1953 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Ardis was a former math aide at Willard School for over 20 years. She was a lifetime member of Emmanuel and was involved in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Martha Reception Circle, LWML Lutheran Family Service representative, and Meals on Wheels Coordinator for Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Ardis was a Lifetime PTA Member, but her main interests were her family and church.

    She is survived by her son Clark (Beverly) Epke of Lincoln, daughter Courtney (Jeffrey) Bird of Omaha; grandchildren: Effie (Michael) Nestrud of Dedham, Mass., and Alexandra and Keenan Bird of Omaha, NE.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Zak Epke, twin brother Arlen Burhoop, sister Mary Ellen Brackhan, and nephew Bryan Burhoop.

    Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Friday, May 11, 2018 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York with the Reverends Mike Neidow and Ben Kaiser officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, York. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday and then from 9:00 am – 8:00 pm again on Thursday with her family greeting friends from 6:00 – 7:30 pm later that evening. Memorials may be directed to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or to Easterday Recreation in Lincoln, NE.
