Boyd A. and Nancy L. Berger – Metz Mortuary

Boyd A. Berger, age 82, and his wife Nancy L. Berger, age 61, of York, NE, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at their home.  Boyd was born November 26, 1931 at York, NE to Harry and Laura (Widle) Berger.  Nancy was born May 22, 1952 at Bradshaw to Roy and Freda (Deeds) Perkins.  Boyd worked for Doremus Construction for many years and Nancy had worked for Alco/Pamida for many years as well.  Boyd was a member of the Elk’s Club in York and enjoyed gardening, Husker football and Cardinals baseball.  Nancy was a member of First United Methodist Church in York and enjoyed reading, baking and crocheting. 

Boyd is survived by four sons, Bradley (Kris) Berger of Canon City, CO, Lonnie (Teresa) Berger of York, Douglas (Christine) Berger of Kimball, NE, and Casey Berger of York; three daughters, Susan Stalkfleet of Iowa City, IA, Teresa (James) Lockwood of Kimball, NE, and Laura Edwards of Lincoln, NE. Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister Sheila Naber.

Nancy is survived by son Casey Berger of York; Michaela Klein of Osceola, NE and Laura Edwards of Lincoln. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, two sisters, and an infant daughter.

Together, Boyd and Nancy are survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in York with the Reverend Art Phillips officiating.  Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.  No viewing or visitation.  Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
