Brent Allen Burhoop, age 59, of McCool Junction, NE died on Thursday, January 2, 2025 in Omaha, NE. He was born on May 15, 1965 and was adopted by Arlen and Virginia (Kelley) Burhoop in Lincoln, NE. He was formerly married to Neta Blunck on May 12, 1993 in York, NE.
Brent was a former weightlifter and on the track team in high school. He enjoyed little league football and baseball. Brent dedicated his life to providing for his children through a career of trucking. The one thing he always set aside for himself was karaoke nights at the bowling alley. He lived to make others smile and laugh. Brent cherished his graduating class of 1983.
He is survived by his children Emily (Wes) Gilstrap of York; Jason Burhoop of Omaha; grandchildren Emma Burhoop-Jackson of York; Noah Burhoop-Jackson of York; Liam Burhoop-Jackson of York; and former wife Neta Burhoop of Grand Island, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2025 at Metz Chapel in York. It was Brent’s wishes to be cremated there will be no viewing. However, there will be signing of his book on Thursday from 1-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Metz Mortuary in York.
