Brent John Bredenkamp, age 66 of York, NE died Thursday, December 4, 2025 in York. He was born on September 17, 1959 to Russell John and Joellyn Odessa (Eacker) Bredenkamp in York. Brent served his country as a member of the United States Army National Guard from 1978 until 1982. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Brent was a welder by trade, enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid Husker sports fan.
He is survived by his sister Jill (Benjamin) Fink of Norfolk, NE, brother Troy (Karol) Bredenkamp of Lincoln, NE, step mother Patricia Bredenkamp of York, step brother Carey (Sarah) Goertzen of Bradshaw, NE, and step sister Jeryl (Robert) Owens of Phoenix, AZ, Nieces and nephews Alexa Fink, Cassandra (Ondrej) Blaha, Braden (Morgan) Fink, Tate Bredenkamp, Truman Bredenkamp, Karsyn Bredenkamp, Cody (Jenny) Goertzen, Casey (Ruthie) Goertzen, Paige Owens, and Parker Owens.
He was preceded in death by his father Russell, mother Joellyn, brother Curt Bredenkamp, grandfather Arthur Bredenkamp, grandmother Beulah Bredenkamp, grandmother Odessa Eacker, and grandfather Ralph Eacker.
Graveside services with military honors are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Greenwood Cemetery in York. Brent has been cremated, there is no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
