Carol Kay Real, age 78 of McCool Junction, NE died on Friday, September 29, 2023 at York. She was born on October 4, 1944 in York to Bruno and Irene (Flauss) Irmer. On June 9, 1962, Carol was united in marriage to Robert Real in York.Carol was a homemaker and, along with her husband, owned Real Cattle Company. She was active in her community, belonging to the Extension Club and a 4-H Leader, McCool Junction Gardening Club, United Methodist Women, and McCool Junction Community Church. She also enjoyed having coffee with her friends. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Robert of McCool Junction, son Kenneth (Kelli) Real of Grafton, NE, and daughter Pamela (Rodney) Friesen of Henderson, NE; grandchildren: Trenten (Samantha) Friesen, Brandon (Amaly) Friesen, Megan (Justin) Anderson, and Trevor Friesen all of Henderson, and Shelby (Mitchell) Softley of Fairmont, NE; eight great grandchildren with one on the way, sisters-in-law Loree Irmer of Pottsville, AR, Barbara Fuller of Scottsdale, AZ, and brothers-in-law Galen Real and Ron Real of Fairmont, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Edna Doremus, eight brothers: Laverne, Ervin, Robert, Leroy, Alfred, Arlin, and Walt, grandson Clay Real, sister-in-law Nancy Real, and brother-n-law Jerry Fuller.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Metz Chapel in York. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-8 pm on Tuesday, with family greeting friends from 6-7:30 pm that evening at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be directed to McCool Junction Community Church.
