Carolyn Jean Koch age 74 of York, NE died Friday, June 5, 2026 at York. She was born September 27, 1951 to Gene and Dorothy (Gutzmer) Fisbeck. Carolyn graduated from York High School in 1970 and was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in York. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge, enjoyed Bingo at the Hearthstone, knitting, and loved being a cashier at Petro Iron Skillet for many years. An avid Husker fan, she enjoyed all things Elvis, spending time with her children and all of their activities. Baking cookies and bars, pumpkin bread and traveling to see extended family were favorite pastimes too.
She is survived by her children; Sarah Koch and Paul Koch both of York. Her nephew Tyler Effle of Omaha. Her brother Tim Fisbeck of Fairbury. Her aunt Karen Scheele of Fairbury, NE, uncle Harvey Gutzmer also of Fairbury and an uncle Rodger (Betty) Gutzmer of Wichita, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Danny, aunt Leola Rickey and uncles Floyd Scheele and Dave Rickey.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 10th, 2026 at the Metz Chapel in York. Visitation will be from 1-8:00 pm Tuesday. Carolyn will be cremated following services with private burial to be held at a later date in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to her family for later designation.
