Carolyn Jean Krula, age 84 of York, NE, died Sunday, July 19, 2026 in York. She was born on October 31, 1941 to Alden Sr. and Mildred (Lopour) Zrust in Richmond, CA.
She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church in York. Carolyn worked at Dale Electronics, Jack & Jill/Econo Foods, Sears, and was the custodian at York Public Schools.She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting hot pads, quilting, cross stitching, embroidering, and making wool yarn on a spinning wheel. You could also find her enjoying a game of bowling. Carolyn and her boyfriend Bill Stone, loved going on rollercoasters, bungee jumping, dancing and listening to country music at local events.
She is survived by her children Todd (Leisa) Krula of Laramie, WY, and Lori Marker of Lincoln, NE, grandchildren Sena (fiance Doug Baldwin) Krula of Laramie, WY, Megan (Tyler) McCarty of Omaha, NE, Morgan Marker of TX, great-grandchildren Everlee and Jaxson McCarty of Omaha, brother Alden Zrust Jr. of Valparaiso, NE, her boyfriend William Stone of York, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Veldene Ball.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Metz Mortuary in York. Carolyn will be cremated after the services. Inurnment will be at a later date in Clarkson, NE, next to her parents. Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. Friday, with the family greeting friends from 6-7:30 p.m. that evening, all at Metz Mortuary. Memorials may be directed to her family for later designation.
