Crystal Ann Cox, age 67 of York, NE, died Tuesday, February 3, 2026 in Lincoln, NE. She was born on September 26, 1958 to Vernard and Shirley (Burroughs) Thomas in Council Bluffs, IA. She married Roger Cox June 26, 1977 and they fostered many children together and adopted 11. They later got divorced.
Crystal was a loving mother and grandmother whose greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved deeply. She loved sewing, decorating cakes, and spending time on the farm. Her faith was an important part of her life and gave her strength and peace.
Crystal is survived by her mother Shirley Thomas of Coin, IA; children: Racheal Cox (Andrew) of Illinois; Casandra Blake (Barry) of Omaha, NE; Andrea Cox (Jared) of Clarinda, IA; Victor Cox (Rachel) of Shenandoah, IA; Adam Cox of Omaha; Luke Cox of Clarinda; Jessica Cox of Shenandoah; Angelina (Eddy) Alverez-Cox of Grand Island, NE; Brittany (Mike) Mueller of York; Kaley (Todd) Cain of Shenandoah; Caterina Cox of Shenandoah; and 17 grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Eddie (Ami) Thomas of Marengo, IA; Ruby Thomas of Coin; Andy (Laura) Thomas of Idesheim, Germany; Darlene Thomas of Coin; Louise (Dan) Curtis of Malvern, IA; and Paul (Alicia) Thomas of York.
She was preceded in death by her father, two brothers Timothy and Jesse Ray.
Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the Great Plains Community Church in York with the Reverend Scott Olson officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Crystal has been cremated there will be no viewing or visitation.
