Dana Scott, age 71 of York, NE, died Sunday, November 30, 2025 in York. He was born on June 28, 1954 to Emmett L. and Ardith (Skelton) Scott in York. On March 20, 1982 he was united in marriage to Mary Priefert in York.
Dana was the retired owner of Scott-Hourigan Company in York. He was a long-time member of York’s First United Methodist Church, and a member of the York Shriners. Dana enjoyed hunting, traveling to dealer conventions, and camping with his family.
He is survived by his wife Mary of York, sons Zac (Amanda) Scott of York, Nick (Kelsey) Scott of Norfolk, NE, Ryan (Sarah) Scott of York, Adam (Anna) Scott of Lincoln, NE, and Curtis (Sydney) Scott of Gretna, NE; grandchildren Jane Scott, Ethan Dodson, Hudson Scott, and Wyatt Scott, brother Dennis (Sue Munch) Brown of York, niece, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dean, and sister Diane.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2025 at First United Methodist Church in York, with the Reverend Trudy Hanke officiating. Private burial. Dana has been cremated. There is no viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church in York.
