    Daniel C. Goossen, age 92, of Henderson, died Friday, June 23, 2017 at Henderson.
    He was born Jan. 1, 1925, on the family farm in Hamilton County to Abraham and Agnes (Kliewer) Goossen. On Feb. 28, 1947, he was married to Lucille Griffis in Joplin, Mo. and to this union three children were born: Pat, Linda and Steve. Dan served his country in the Army during World War 2.

    Dan was a great farmer and loved all that farming offered. He enjoyed being a pilot and would fly at every opportunity.
    Dan was a lifelong member of the Mennonite Brethren Church in Henderson. He served the Lord in many areas of the church. He read his Bible in its entirety 11 times. He loved the Lord and always put Him first in his life.

    He is survived by his wife, Lucille of Henderson; son, Steve (Jan) Goossen of Henderson; daughter, Pat Goossen of Henderson and Linda Troxel of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his brother, Walt (Darlene) Goossen of Henderson; sister, Esther Ediger and sister-in-law, Hulda Goossen both of Henderson.
    Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Herb and Henry and sister, Bertha Kliewer.

    Graveside services will be held at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Mennonite Brethren Cemetery in Henderson. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Henderson. Visitation will be held 1 – 9 p.m. Monday June 26, 2017 and from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday June 27, 2017 with the family greeting friends from 6:30 – 8 p.m. that same evening at the mortuary in Henderson. Memorials may be directed to the Mennonite Brethren Church, and Henderson Health Care Systems.
