She was born Aug. 5, 1980 in York to Nita McWee and Dan Hoeft. She was a 1998 graduate from York High School. On June 21, 2001 she was united in marriage to Matthew Koch in Rapid City, S.D.
Dana was currently working as executive housekeeper at Holiday Inn Express. She previously had worked in management for Applebee’s. She was an amateur storm chaser and loved astronomy. Most of all she loved her family. Dana cherished her husband, two daughters and son.
Dana is survived by her husband, Matthew and their children Chloe, Jeffrey and Winter of York; mother, Nita (Martin) Workman of York; father, Dan Hoeft of York; sister, Lexi Hoeft of York; niece and nephew, Stormy and Damon Hoeft of York; father-in-law, Dennis Koch of York and mother-in-law, Barb Koch of Goshen, Ind. Dana was preceded in death by a still-born daughter, Summer Nichole.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015 at the York College Prayer Chapel in York. Following services, Dana will be cremated with private family inurnment. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Visitation will be held from 5 – 9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m. -9 p.m. Wednesday with family receiving friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 – 8 p.m., all at the mortuary.
