David Lynn Anderson

David Lynn Anderson, 38, of York, Nebraska, passed away at home, Monday, July 21, 2025.

David was born on November 23, 1986, in Crossville, Tennessee, and although he made his home in York, Nebraska, the values of his Tennessee roots stayed with him throughout his life.

A skilled carpenter with a true love for welding, David spent much of his life working alongside his dad — taking pride in his craft and the time they shared on the job. His talent was evident in everything he did, and he was always the first to lend a hand when family or friends needed help with a project. He gave freely of his time, his skills, and his heart.

David was known for his gentle nature, quiet strength, and steady loyalty. He had a calming presence, a sharp sense of humor, and a deep love for those close to him. He was also known for his strong opinions, never afraid to speak his mind — a reflection of his integrity and unwavering sense of what he believed was right. He found joy in the simple things — a good conversation, time spent outdoors, the rhythm of working with his hands, and the companionship of his beloved dog, Foster, who was always by his side. He especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening, often finding peace and satisfaction in the stillness of nature and the rewards of hard work.

He is survived by his father, Ed Anderson, and stepmother, Jennifer Anderson, of York; his mother, Teresa Lewis, of York; and his sister, Jenn Anderson, of Lincoln. He is also survived by his stepsisters, Amanda Scott and Ashley Kaltenbach, both of York, and Allison Bethune, of McCool; and his beloved Granny Helen Lewis, of Pleasant Hill, Tennessee.

David leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, many cousins — his first best friends — and countless friends who will carry his memory forward with love and gratitude.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, his Granny Pattye Anderson and Grandpa Oakley Anderson; his Granny Evelyn Lewis; his Grandpa Corky Lewis; his aunt Susan West; and a host of many other loved ones who now welcome him with open arms.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, July 28, 2025 at Metz Chapel in York. David has been cremated and there will be no viewing. There will be visitation and signing of his register book on Sunday from 1- 8 pm, with family greeting friends from 6-7:30 pm that evening. Memorials may be directed to York Adopt-A-Pet or to the family for later designation.
