She was born Oct. 12, 1934 at Pierce to Walter and Clara (Wulf) Lubke. She was a telephone operator before working at Alco and Wal-Mart stores. Delores was married to Matthew “Bud” Peterson on April 10, 1955 at York. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in York, enjoyed dancing, bird watching, and fishing.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Peterson and Lori Peterson of York; sister, Lois Myers of York and sisters-in-law, Doris (Wendell) Dahl from Australia, Beverly Jacobsen of Fairmont and Betty Thompson from Texas.
Delores is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter; one sister and three brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Art Phillips officiating. Interment will be in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Metz Mortuary. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 – 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
