Delores was a founding member of the York Senior Center and loved playing Bridge and Pitch. She bought and sold antiques and was a member of the Lutheran Camping Association. Delores enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and making cinnamon rolls.
She is survived by her daughter Jayne (Larry) Griffiths of Waco, NE, grandchildren Will (Jennifer) Volzke of Hickman, NE, Mathew (Caitlin) Volzke of Gretna, NE and Virginia (Chris Anzicek) Volzke-Bray of Kansas City, KS. Her grandchildren include Olivia and Elijah Volzke and Miles Anzicek and Holly Bray. Also surviving is her brother and sister-in-law Edwin (Geraldine) Eggers of Wisner, NE. Step-children include: Elizabeth Stuhr of Astoria, OR, Nancy and Francis Schafer of West Bend, IA, David Stuhr of Lowell, MA, and Linda and Jerry Springer of Utica, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, son-in-law Hollis Volzke, Grandson Justin Volzke, brothers, sisters and spouses Al and Olga Eggers, Wilbert and Gertrude Eggers, Nelda and Emil Heerman, Al and Myra Theis and Herman and Theora Heller and step-son Glenn Stuhr.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York with the Reverends Mike Neidow and Ben Kaiser officiating. Burial will be in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to her family for later designation. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, and 9:00 a.m., – 8:00 p.m., Friday with her family greeting friends later that evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the mortuary.
