    Dona Belle M. Hanna passed away on October 13, 2022. Dona was born in York, Nebraska on March 23, 1927 to E. LaRue Garner and Thelma Garner. On July 31, 1949 Dona married L. Dale Hanna. Their 28 years of marriage was blessed with the birth of their four sons, Dana, David, Douglas and Derk. In his early teens, Ron Skaden joined the family.

    ​Dona was involved in the real estate and auction business with her husband for many years. She was the first woman real estate broker in York County and a member of the Blue River Board of Realtors and Nebraska Realtors Association. Dona’s husband, Dale, died May 2, 1977. In 1981 Dona married Kenneth Fletcher and moved to California where she held the position of National Market Budget Administrator for Coldwell Banker Real Estate Headquarters. In 1993, she returned to Lincoln to be near to family. She was employed for several years at Nebraska Title Company. Dona was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her pastimes included golf, sewing, crocheting and reading. She was a member of St. Mark’s Methodist Church.

    Survivors include sons Dana Hanna (Iris), David (Lucie), Douglas (Linda), Derk (Gina), and Ron (Barb) Skaden. Also left to cherish her memory are 11 grandchildren, brother Jack Garner, nieces and nephews, and Dona’s dear friend, Lori Walker.
    Dona was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Thelma Garner, sister LaVonne Philson, husbands L. Dale Hanna and Kenneth Fletcher.

    Dona requested a private family burial service. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed to “Beauty For Ashes Ministry”, PO Box 712, Platte City Mo., 64079. Donations can also be made online at the  Dona has been cremated so there will be no viewing or visitation.
