Donald Lulow – Metz Mortuary

Donald W. Lulow age 88 of York, NE died Friday, June 29, 2018 at Henderson, NE. He was born October 23, 1929 at Aurora, NE to Charles and Rosella (Smith) Lulow. Don was a longtime employee at Moses Ford in York, where he was a certified computer technician. Don served his country in the United States Army from February 27, 1953 until February 26, 1955 and was  a member of the York Legion Bolton Post #19. On June 9, 1955 he was united in marriage to Helen Nelson.

Don was a member of First Lutheran Church in York, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, and talking on his CB radio. Don was always fixing things around the house and for others.

He is survived by his loving wife Helen of 63 years, three children: Karen Meyer of Grand Island, Keith (Sue) Lulow of Grand Island, and  Kim (Jim) Hoffman of York; six grandchildren: Josh (Liesal) Hoffman and Jeremy Hoffman both of York, Leslie (Kyle) Neeman of Philips, NE, Andrew Behrle of Wood River, Katie (Mario) Chavarria and Sarah (James) Johnson both of Grand Island.; 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and sister-in-law Joann Nelson of Galt, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  brother Leonard,  sister Shirley Klundt, son-in-law Michael Meyer, and granddaughter Erica Lulow.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 2, 2018 at the First Lutheran Church in York  military honors at the church.  Don will be cremated following services so his family will have a private graveside at a later date. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday with his family greeting friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. that same afternoon at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers or plants,  memorials may be directed to his family for later designation.
