After attending Mount Marty College in South Dakota for a year, Donna moved to Omaha, NE to begin her independent life. From that time on, Donna was independent, responsible for her life, responsible for her decisions, and responsible for the consequences of her decisions. She moved to southern California and worked in the shipyards. For many years she lived and worked in New Orleans, including working in the restaurant industry during Mardi Gras. The adventures of new places, new people, and new ideas always drew Donna to new places. Ultimately, Omaha, NE became her permanent home. Her profession was server in several of Omaha’s finest steakhouses including years at Angie’s (until it closed). She then worked at Casio’s until she retired. Her life focus was to experience life as it was with no pretenses. She understood and appreciated people from all walks of life. Dogs and cats were her beloved companions throughout most of her life.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Cecava and special life companion, Clyde Owens. Surviving Donna are her siblings Richard (Kristine) Cecava, Robert (Fe) Cecava, Patricia (Doug) Hager, Joe (Rita) Cecava and Mike (Mary) Cecava along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation occurred at her direction. Inurnment was at St. Joseph Cemetery in York, NE.
