Born August 5, 1933 and died May 27, 2019. Born at Sackets Harbor, NY to Claude and Alice (Casler) Brown. Married Fred O. Wyant on March 14, 1953 at Rapid City AFB, S.D. She was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, where she was a telephone switchboard operator. Preceded in death by her parents, eldest daughter, Gayle Lemke, son Wayne, one great granddaughter and a great grandson. She is survived by her husband Fred of York, daughter Wendy (Ricky) Whaley of LaVista, NE., daughter Robin Wyant of Omaha, NE., and son David of York. Also surviving is her brother James Brown of Beaver City, NE., special friend Leigh Qubty of York. 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Betty supported Fred throughout his military carrier by traveling and making a home with him and their family at 17 different locations. She was a member of the Omaha Assembly No 91 of the Social Order of the Beauceant and of Star City Bettys. She loved to send birthday cards to family and friends and enjoyed sending and receiving lots of Christmas cards and letters as well.
Betty has been cremated so there will be no viewing or visitation. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Metz Chapel in York. Private family inurnment will be held in the Papillion Cemetery at a later time. Memorials may be directed to the donor’s favorite charity.
