Ellen L. McDaniel, age 65 of York, NE, died Thursday, July 2, 2026 in York. She was born on July 14, 1960 to James Campbell and Ernestine Brooks in Phoenix, AZ. On June 17, 1989 she was united in marriage to Maurice McDaniel in Phoenix.
Ellen was a long-time member of Family of Faith Church in Phoenix, and was well known in that area. She enjoyed shopping, reading, and loved to draw. Ellen was very close to her grandchildren and loved spending time with them and all of her family. She was well known in the community and was committed and consistent in volunteering at the 7th Street Food Pantry.
She is survived by her sons Larry Brown, Tyrell McDaniel, and Lamar McDaniel, all of Phoenix, daughters LaShonda (Ronald) Jones of York, Antoyia (Mark) Patterson of Phoenix, twenty seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sisters Judy Campbell, Michelle Galbreath, Victoria Morrow, and Katherine Campbell, all of Texas. She is also survived by her first cousins Toyia Brooks, Timothy Brooks, Marian Brooks, Felicia Timmons, and her uncle Walter Lee Brooks, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first cousin Walter Lee Brooks, Jr., that was like a brother to her, her husband Maurice McDaniel, and her uncle Wallace Brooks.
