He passed away March 25, 2016 in York, at the age of 90.
In January 1959, Everett married Alice Mae (Lind) at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Gresham. To this union, two children were born, Clay and Kathleen.
The couple farmed east of Gresham. Everett raised cattle, hogs, chickens, corn, beans, milo, wheat and alfalfa. When he retired, he gardened, sharing flowers and produce with family and friends. He also spent time woodworking, making toy boxes and bookshelves for his grandchildren. Everett and Alice Mae loved to travel enjoying many trips through the York Fun Club. He looked forward to Wednesday morning coffee in Gresham. Everett was very interested in genealogy often providing information to family members. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren always helping where and when he could.
Everett was a member of St. Peter Luther Church and Davidson-Neujahr American Legion Post 13 in Gresham. He served on the Gresham School Board and the ASCS Board.
Everett is survived by his wife, Alice Mae, of Gresham; son, Clay (special friend Robyn Moser) of Gresham; daughter, Kathleen Zumpfe (Larry) of Friend; three grandchildren, Morgan, Cody and Madison from Friend; two sisters-in-law, Donna Rathje and Dama Lind of York; and nieces and nephews.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Selma, Elnora and Erma; and brothers, Carl and Harry.
Funeral services are Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Gresham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with the Reverend Lee Seetin officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation in care of Metz Mortuary.
