She was born July 19, 1912 in rural Waco to Albert H. and Mary H. (Schlechte) Stuhr and graduated from Waco High School in 1929. Florence was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church at Waco. On Sept. 10, 1936 she was married to Thomas Stewart at Waco. Then on Aug. 15, 1947 she was married to Lawrence Treakle also at Waco.
She is survived by her son, John W. (Betty) Treakle of Port Angeles, Wash. and her daughter Frances M. Stewart of Waco. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jesse (Manal) Treakle of Abqaiq, Saudia Arabia and Emily (Brian) Chase of Tacoma, Wash. Her great-grandchildren include, Celia Treakle and Jason Treakle of the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia and Dylan Chase of Tacoma, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Peace Lutheran Church in Waco. Burial will follow in the Waco Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Mission Central c/o of Gary Theiss 40718 Hwy E16, Mapleton, IA, 51034. Visitation begins after 5 p.m. on Monday with her family greeting friends Tuesday evening from 7-8:30 at the mortuary.
