Gary was an accountant at his business, Gary Rowe Bookkeeping and Tax Service in York. He also managed the Safeway store in Gothenburg, NE. He was a veteran and served his country in the Army.
He enjoyed Husker football, his dog Molly, hunting pheasants and ducks, and was an avid reader of westerns and military history.
He is survived by son Troy (Laura) Rowe of York, son Doug Rowe of Lincoln, grandchildren: Brittany (Matt) Lanik of Lincoln, Ashlee Rowe of Omaha, Devin Rowe of York, Amber (Scott) Knowles of Lincoln, Crystal (Matt) Aurini of York, Eric (Kyra Hubbard) Rowe of York, and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Doug Samuelson of McCook and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, wife, and granddaughter Brandi Rowe and three infant siblings.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in York, with the Reverend Trudy Hanke officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, York with military honors. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 1:00-8:00 p.m., at Metz Mortuary, York with the family greeting friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
