Jace Alan Payne – Metz Mortuary

Jace Alan Payne, age 24, of Aurora, NE, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Aurora, NE. He was born January 30, 1988 in Omaha, NE to Larry Alan and Tammi Buys Payne of York, NE. Jace lived in York, NE and graduated from York High School in 2006. After graduating, Jace enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Afghanistan for 15 months. After serving 4 years in the Army, Jace was Honorably Discharged and returned to York, NE where he lived and worked. Later he moved to Aurora, NE and worked for George Bros. Propane & Fertilizer, in Sutton, NE. Jace met Jeana Dawn Hoffschneider in York, NE and they had planned on getting married soon. Jace volunteered as a Fire Fighter at York; NE. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, four-wheeling and spending time with close friends. Jace’s favorite holiday was the 4th of July. Jace will be missed by family and friends.

Jace was Lutheran by faith his entire life. He was preceded in death by John & Sylvia Buys of Akron, IA and Donna Payne of Castana, IA; grandparents and uncle, David Richardson.

Jace is survived by his mother Tammi Buys Payne of Akron, IA, father Larry Payne of Lincoln, NE; fiancé Jeana Hoffschneider of Aurora; sister Jessica and her husband Alex and son Jaxon Pagel of Belton, MO; sister Kylie Payne and her daughter Audrey of  Geneva, NE; step father Wayne Richardson of York; step mother Joni Payne of Geneva, NE; and three step sisters: Miranda McCarthy of Lincoln, NE, Melissa Fushia of Geneva, and Kasey Houck of York; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 31 at the main floor of the York City Auditorium.    A memorial fund has been set up at Midwest Bank.  No viewing or visitation.
