James L. Sievers, age 56 of Fairbury, NE, (formerly of York, NE), died Wednesday, September 2, 2026 in Fairbury. He was born on November 12, 1969 to Chuck and Beverly (St. Claire) Sievers in Sioux Falls, SD. James’s life partner was Lynn Shaw from April 20, 1995 to March 20, 2025.
James was a construction and masonry worker. He proudly served in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne. James was an outdoorsman, loving to fish and hunt, and was a gamer. He was very kind hearted and loyal to a fault.
He is survived by his life partner Lynn Shaw of York, NE, step children Jeremy Metcalf of Lincoln, NE, seven grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, brothers Terry Sievers of Anchorage, Alaska, and Dale Sievers of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rod, and sister Sherry Gnewuch.
There are no services scheduled. James has been cremated. There is no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
