    Joan H. Hoeft, age 85, of Henderson, NE died Friday, May 31, 2019 at Lincoln, NE. She was born September 4, 1933 in Lushton, NE to Alfred and Keitha (VanPatten) Snider. Joan was a graduate of Grafton High School, and on April 29, 1953 she was united in marriage to Bobby Hoeft in Lushton.
     
    Joan was a member of the Bradshaw Methodist Church, and worked as a caretaker for several people during her life. She also drove the school bus and worked as a cook at Grafton Public School. She was a member of the Fairmont Women’s Legion Auxiliary, the Fairmont Women’s Club. She enjoyed embroidering, but most of all she loved cooking and baking her famous homemade Runza’s, beef & noodles, and pies for her family, and gathering them around the table for a meal.
     
    Joan is survived by her daughter Kathy (Steve) Warren of Bradshaw, son Bobby (Kathy Temme) Hoeft Jr. of Fairmont, daughter Tracy (Bill Hoffman) Hoeft-Hoffman of Kearney, and foster daughter Jamie (Kenny) Morton, of Omaha. She is also survived by her 23 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren. Brother and sisters-in-law include: Tom Snider of McCool Jct. Lois Smith of York, Ron Merkel of Omaha, Joan Hunsche of York, Judie (Larry) Johnson of Omaha, Donald “Tuff” Hoeft of Elwood, and Vi Hoeft of Henderson.
     
    She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, foster son Jeff Peterson, brothers Earl and Ted Snider, sisters June Faye Snider and Judy Merkel, brothers and sisters-in-law  Sandy Snider, Bud Hoeft, Willard & Shirley Pinneo, Maynard “Noots” (Lois) Hoeft, Dennis Hoeft, Marvin Hunche, and Joyce Hoeft.
     
    Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Bradshaw United Methodist Church with the Reverend Mary Scott officiating. Interment to follow at the Grafton Cemetery. Visitation will be held between 1:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday with her family greeting friends between 6:00 – 8:00 PM that same evening at the mortuary in York. Memorials may be directed to the Bradshaw United Methodist Church, Grafton Fire Department, or to any charity of the donor’s choice.
