A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Burial will follow in the York’s Greenwood Cemetery. It was Joan’s wishes to be cremated, so there will be no viewing. However, a signing of her book will be held from 1-8:00 pm Friday, September 18 with her family greeting friends from 6-7:30 pm that same evening, all at the mortuary in York. Memorials may be directed to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church or Relay for Life.
