John Carley
John Sherman Carley, 45, of Bandon, OR, formerly of York, NE, passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 at his home in Bandon. John was born on May 28, 1966 in York to Mary Jo (Blair) Miller and James Carley. He graduated from York High School in 1984. He spent several years as a cook at Chances ‘R’ in York.
On April 4, 1998, he married Christie Williams in York. They moved to Bandon, Or in 2007, where he worked as a cook at Billy Smoothboars until his death. John enjoyed fishing and hunting, going to the beach for long walks, and reading.
Survivors include his wife, Christie, of Bandon; mother Mary Jo Miller of York; father James (Cindy) Carley of Broomfield, CO; mother-in-law, Joann (Gary) Borchman of Coquille, OR; father-in-law Frank (Yvonne) Williams of York; sister Angie (Steve) Schmidt of York, brothers James (Meleasa) Carley of Texarkana, AR, Glen Carley of Broomfield, CO, and Eric (Jenny) Carley of Kissee Mills, MO; brothers-in-law, Tommy Williams of Bandon, Aaron Williams of York; sisters-in-law, Melissa (John) Morris of Coquille, Amanda Williams of York, Ashley (Ed) Hernandez of York, Rosie Williams of York.
Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Kaytlyn, Kolton, and Kayla Schmidt of York, Gabrielle Carley of Texarkana, Jessica and Megan Carley of Kissee Mills, Cyrus Carley of Salem, OR, Alexis Williams of Vancover, WA, Hayden Williams, Camden and Ashtun Diessner of York, Riley, Blake and Myleigh Hernandez of York; uncle Larry (Arlene) Blair of York; numerous cousins; friends; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe (Hilda Wessels) Blair and Raymond (Bertha) Carley, and his step-father Max Miller.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2012 at the New Heights Assembly of God Church in York. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Cremation, no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family.
