John E. Mann, age 81 of York, NE, died Wednesday, September 30, 2026 in York. He was born on July 6, 1945 to Samuel and Alice (Maler) Mann in York, NE.
John was a carpenter by trade and loved to weld and make animals out of metal. John enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, collecting beer cans, and was an antique collector. He loved music, records and watching old westerns, and had an interest in tractors, old cars, airplanes and birds. John’s greatest love was to spend time with his family as they meant everything to him.
He is survived by his daughter Ginnie Mann (special friend Travis Ackerman) of Benedict, NE, grandchildren Dalton Ekeler and Levi Ekeler, both of York, bonus daughter Katelin (Dustan) Friesen and Waylan Friesen of Seward, NE, sister Lavera (Stanley) Schiermeyer of Fairbury, NE, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Steven (Loy) Mann, Richard (Dorothy) Mann, sister Mary (Wayne) Struebing, two nieces, and three nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. John has been cremated so there will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
