Joseph D. Johnson left us too soon on June 23, 2026 at the age of 42.
He brought immeasurable joy to his parents Rick and Teresa from the very moment he was born on April 30, 1984 in Grand Island, Nebraska. Growing up Joe was all boy full of adventure. He was joined in his adventures when brother Luke arrived in 1985. The two were inseparable. He was then joined by his step brother Lance and the adventures moved to unforgettable trips with family and extended family.
Joe loved so many things first of all his children Aubree 17, Logan 10, and Ryatt 9. He loved them with his whole heart because that’s how he loved everything including his love for large equipment, his dog Bently, his fishing boat and his many dear friends.
Joe possessed a rare kindness and an open heart. He was the kind of person who never met a stranger and was fiercely loyal to his friends. His absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family and the many lives he touched.
Joe is survived by his children Aubree of York, NE, Logan and Ryatt of Kearney, NE; parents Rick (Rachel) Johnson of Duncan, NE, Teresa (Ray) Lorang of York, brother Luke, step brother Lance (fiancee Celina) of CA, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
It was Joe’s wishes to be cremated. There will be no viewing or visitation. A private family service will be held. A Celebration of Life for Joe will be held from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at the York Elks BPOE Lodge #1024 in York, NE.
