Joseph “Joe” A. Schuller, age 93 of York, NE, died Saturday, January 17, 2026 in Grand Island, NE. He was born on July 23, 1932 to Joseph and Estelle (Kostal) in Odell, NE. He was united in marriage to Sharon Luebken on April 5, 1975 in Odell.
Joe served honorably in the United States Army and was a faithful member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in York. He was a member of the Odell American Legion. He loved to travel; he especially cherished spending his winters in Texas. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Schuller of York; daughter Lecia (Chad) Snell Kinen of Gretna, NE; grandchildren Alexis (Zach) Munford of Gretna; Seth Snell and special friend Alyssa of Portland, OR; Zachary Snell of Bozeman, MT; Justin (Liv) Kinen of Omaha, NE; and Colton Kinen and special friend Katie of Denver, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bill and Charlie, and sisters Agatha and Margaret.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, January 23, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in York with the Reverend Father John Sullivan officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery east of York following services. No viewing or visitation as it was his wish to be cremated. A rosary service will be prayed one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church or School.
