Karen J. Kline, age 66 of York, NE died Saturday, November 22, 2025 in York. Karen was born October 5, 1959 in Rockford, IL to Robert G. and Diane J. (Wells) Redfield. On May 21, 1999 she was married to Jeff Kline in York.
For 31 years, Karen was employed at York General Hospital in Environmental Services before retiring on October 1, 2024. She thoroughly enjoyed working there with all of her fellow employees and meeting all kinds of wonderful patients and their families. Karen loved life and spending time with her husband and all of their children and grandchildren. Karen was an avid Husker fan of both football and women’s volleyball teams.
She is survived by her husband Jeff of York, her children: Dan (Jen) Short of York, Amanda Ruben of Lincoln, NE, Elycia (Andrew) Cuddeford of Lincoln, Matt (Amanda) Kline of Waco, NE, Aleece Abram of Lincoln, and Kirstin Batterton of Lincoln, along with many wonderful and loving grandchildren and great grandchildren, her father Robert Redfield of Loveland, CO, her siblings: Randy Redfield of Lincoln, NE and Scott Redfield of Loveland, CO, and sister-in-law Sheryl (Jesse) Barrett.
She was preceded in death by her mother Diane, sister Renee (Scott) Jedlicka, granddaughter Hanna Short and brother-in-law Steve Kline.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Karen has been cremated so there will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to her family for later designation.
