    Kathleen “Kappy” Joyce (Walsh) Bedient
    Kathleen “Kappy” Joyce (Walsh) Bedient age 78 a longtime York, NE resident died Saturday, August 15, 2009 at York.
    She was born March 29, 1931 at York to Thomas F. and Lucy (Gibb) Walsh and graduated from St Joseph’s High School in 1949. She was an active member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in York, Altar Society, the York Does Drove #7, York business Women, the York Firewomen Smokie Lassies, Friendship Club, the York Chamber of Commerce and the Ambassadors as well. Kappy had been employed for over 30 years at York State Bank. On October 10, 1949 she was married to Richard G. Bedient at York.

    She is survived by two sons, Jim Bedient of Lakewood, CO, and Bob and his wife Jan Bedient of York. Two daughters, Glenda and her husband Richard Hauser of Lake St. Louis, MO, and Pat and her husband Tom Robson of West Des Moines, IA.

    ​Her Grandchildren include, Brian and his wife Brandie Hauser of Lake St Louis, MO, Josh Bedient of Lakewood, CO, Eric and his wife Katie Robson of Lombard, Ill, Sara and her husband Dan Bartlett of St Paul, MN, Christopher and his wife Kama Bedient of Lincoln, Tony Bedient of Lincoln, Matt Pullen of Ventura, CA and Megan and her husband Todd Lanham of Central City, NE.

    Her great grandchildren include. Luci and Joey Hauser of Lake St Louis, MO, Sean and Molly Robson of Lombard, Ill., Kaiden, Blayke, and Hannah Bedient of Lincoln, NE and Eli Lanham of Central City; many nieces, nephews cousins and a host of friends.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and seven sisters.

    A Mass of Christian burial will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York with Father Mark Tasler officiating with private burial in St Joseph’s Cemetery. A Rosary service will be said 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Metz Mortuary with her family greeting friends one hour prior to the Visitation begins after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
