    Lawrence ‘Jim’ T. ‘Frosty’ James Jr.
    Lawrence “Jim” T. “Frosty” James Jr., age 86, formerly of York, passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015 in Elkhorn.

    He was born July 3, 1929 in York to Lawrence and Alvena (Widga) James Sr. Jim was united in marriage to Marilyn M. Schafer on Sept. 30, 1951 in rural Cass County. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in York. Jim owned and operated York Frozen Foods in York for more than 40 years.  

    He is survived by his son Dr. Scott James of Omaha and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and sister, Jacqueline.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in York. Interment will follow in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. on Monday at the mortuary with the family greeting friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m.

    In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be directed to the church or the American Cancer Society. ​
