    Leroy D. Miller, age 74, of York, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 at York General Hospital surrounded by family. Leroy was born Oct. 24, 1940 in Canon City, Colo. to George and Pearl (Althouse) Miller.

    Leroy was united in marriage to Carol E. Heiden Aug. 13, 1961 at Zion Lutheran Church north of Hampton. After 36 years, Leroy retired from Perennial Public Power District and was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York.

    Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carol of York; son, Dana of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; daughter Lisa (Greg) Mankin of Phoenix, Ariz.; mother, Pearl Miller of Deer Creek, Minn.; siblings, Paulie (Gordon) Johnson of Nebraska, Harold (Linda) Miller and John Miller of Texas, Linda Weber, James Miller and Karl Miller of Minnesota, Marilyn Miller of Colorado; many nieces, nephews and additional family members and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his father, George C. Miller; brothers, Charlie Miller, David Miller and George R. “Dickey” Miller and sister, Cathie Harre.

    A celebration of Leroy’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Pastor Mike Neidow will officiate. Private family inurnment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery north of Hampton. As per Leroy’s wish, there will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials should be directed to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, York, Neb.​
