Leroy Ott – Metz Mortuary

LeRoy Eugene Ott Sr., age 70, of York, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014 at Lincoln. He was born April 2, 1944 in Stromsburg, to Reuben and Hazel (Ryder) Ott. He was a graduate of Giltner High School and later married Irva Jean Kendall on Aug. 9, 1963 at Giltner. At a young age, LeRoy worked with his father as a carpenter and later in life retired from Champion Homes. He enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren’s activities and fishing trips with his family.

LeRoy is survived by his wife, Irva Jean of York; sons, LeRoy (Karla) Ott Jr. and Todd Ott, all of York; grandchildren, Jocelyn, Kami, Dillon, Henry, Nathan, Bailey and Ryleigh and great-granddaughter, Londyn.

Also surviving are two sisters, Betty (Chuck) Schmidt of Grand Island and Billie Foulk of Giltner; one brother, Gary Ott of Giltner and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Kristi Renee.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in York. Graveside services will be that afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Giltner Cemetery in Giltner.

Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. The family will be present to greet friends from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.​
