Linda Van Esch, age 81 of York, NE died Thursday, July 23, 2026 in York. She was born on January 15, 1945 to Clarence and Cora Huizenga in Chicago, IL. In 1952 the family moved to Mount Vernon, WA.
On March 30, 1964 she was united in marriage to Randy R. Van Esch in Las Vegas, NV. Linda was a stay at home Mom. She then cleaned in a clinic, and she and her friend had a house cleaning business for 8-10 years. Linda and family moved to York in 2020.
Linda enjoyed bowling, keeping her flower beds pretty, and shopping. She loved game nights, spending time with family and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Scott (Kim) Van Esch, grandson Deven Van Esch, granddaughter Kylie (Cody) McGowan, three great-grandsons Colton, Casen and Crew McGowan all of York, sister Catherine (Tom) Dostart of Bow, WA, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son David, brothers Clarence, Robert, Bernie, and Jacob, sisters Dena, Ann, and Jenny.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in Washington state. Linda has been cremated. There is no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
