Lois King – Metz Mortuary

    Lois King
    Lois Elaine King, age 86, of Lincoln, formerly of York, died in Lincoln.

    She was born June 15, 1929 at Benedict to Boyd and Doris (Scalph) Myers. Lois attended elementary school in Benedict and later graduated from York High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Condon R. King on May 15, 1949 at York. Lois was a secretary/bookkeeper/tax preparer for many years.

    She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 1609 in York. She served as state president from 1965-1966 and national council member from 1975-1977. Lois was also a member of the DAR David Bryant Chapter in York and a life member of the VFW National Home for Children. She was honored as an Admiral in the Nebraska Navy.

    Left to cherish her memory are nephews, Ron (Shelley) Myers of Thornton, Colo., Don (Connie) Myers of Kansas City, Mo., Doug (Sherry) King of Lincoln, Wesley (Robin) Myers of Minneapolis, Minn., Craig Myers of Minneapolis, Minn. and other nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Condon King.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Metz Chapel in York. Interment will be in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, June 17, from 1-9 p.m., with family greeting friends from 7-8 p.m. at the Metz Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary or Cancer Research Fund.​
