Lois Myers – Metz Mortuary

    Lois Ann Myers age 85 of York, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017 at Fullerton.

    She was born April 12, 1932 in Pierce to Walther and Clara (Wulf) Lubke. After High School Lois worked at York General Hospital and was a long time employee of Grand Central Super Valu in York. After retiring in 1994, she also worked part time at Burger King for the next 14 years. A York resident for over 60 years she was a Charter member of the York Eagles Club where she held almost every auxiliary officer position.

    Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Donald (Connie) Myers of Kansas City, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Shelley Myers of Thornton, Colo.; niece and nephew, Lori and Dennis Peterson of York; 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ronald L. Myers; sisters, Bernice Hall and Delores Peterson and also a niece and grandson.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Penny Schultz officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 – 8 p.m. Thursday with her family greeting friends from 6 -7:30 p.m. that evening at the mortuary. Cremation following services with private graveside services to be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at the York Eagle’s Club following services. Memorials may be directed to the Eagle’s or to the family.
