Marilyn J. Trofholz – Metz Mortuary

Marilyn J. Trofholz, age 86 of York, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at York.  She was born April 18, 1928 at Columbus, NE to Raymond and Martha (Plagemann) Jourdan.  Marilyn was married to Vernon Trofholz on September 5, 1948 in Columbus. 

They owned and operated Trofholz Bakery in York from 1952-1983.  Marilyn was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York, a former member of YCC, and belonged to many Bridge clubs.  She loved animals and was an active volunteer at the local grade schools.  She will be most remembered for her colorful expressions and quick wit. 

Marilyn is survived by her daughter Sally and husband (Thurman) Hinds of Lincoln, NE, daughter-in-law, Tammy Trofholz of York, brother-in-law, Ed Trofholz of Columbus, and numerous friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Terry.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York with the Reverend Mike Neidow officiating.  Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, York, NE.  Public visitation will be from 1-9 pm Friday at Metz Mortuary.  Memorials may be directed to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or York Adopt-A-Pet.
