Martha Grobe
Martha L. Grobe, age 100, passed away on April 7, 2021 in York. She was born August, 15, 1920 in Lushton, NE to Emmett and Martha (Tharp) Lincoln. She spent her childhood in McCool Junction and after moving to York graduated from York High School in 1937. She also attended York College. On May 29, 1943 she was married to Clark E. Grobe in Weatherford, OK before he was deployed overseas during World War II.
Martha was a Registered Public Accountant and worked for several businesses in York including annual tax accounting at Roman Weimers and Associates. She was a member of the Methodist Church and an early secretary of the Yorkshire Playhouse. After retirement. she and Clark enjoyed traveling and for many years spent summers in northern Idaho and winters in south Texas. She was an avid bowler and bridge player and in her later years enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, birdwatching and entertaining her family, friends and neighbors in the home she lived in for 65 years.

Martha is survived by daughter Terry and husband Dennis Ratzlaff of Richmond, CA, granddaughter Julia Ratzlaff of Oakland, CA, son Mark and wife Julie of York and loving niece Lenore Leader of Wichita, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clark, brother Robert, sister Alice Weist and nephew Jerry Weist.
Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Metz Chapel, York. Private family inurnment at Greenwood Cemetery, McCool Jct., NE. There will be no viewing or visitation as it was Martha’s wish to be cremated. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
