She was born Sept. 25, 1926 at rural Benedict to Lynn and Elsie (Shipferling) Myers. She was raised in Benedict and graduated from Benedict High School in 1943. Martha was united in marriage to Lloyd R. Morris on Feb. 10, 1958 at York.
Martha was a farmwife. She enjoyed embroidery, quilting and baking and was known for her quick wit and dry sense of humor. She loved being surrounded by family and having people drop in for a visit. Martha spent the last 10 years of her life at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg where she made many good friends.
She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Ehlers of York and Erma Lampe of Loveland, Colo.; sisters-in-law, Shirley Morris and Janet Morris both of Stromsburg, Florence Myers of Fargo, N.D. and Phyllis Myers of Grand Island; brother-in-law Jesse Rust Jr. of York; adopted grandfamily, Johnny and Charity Naron and their children and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband and two infant daughters, Merna Marie and Elsie Elaine; brothers, Jim Myers, Leonard Myers, Rodney Myers and William Myers; sisters-in-law, Betty Rust and Rosemary Calhoun; brothers-in-law, Donald Morris and Lee Morris.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016 at the Metz Chapel in York with J.D. Scamehorn officiating. Interment will be in the Arborville Cemetery south of Polk. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Wednesday with the family greeting friends from 7-8 p.m. Memorials may be directed the Arborville Congregational Church or Midwest Covenant Home.
