Michael L Brown – Metz Mortuary

Michael L. Brown age 68 of York, died Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at Lincoln. He was born December 6, 1936 at Lampasas, TX. to Fulton J. and Ima (Hallmark) Brown. Mike came to York in 1956 to attend York College and later worked in the maintenance department of the college for over 20 years, He was a member of the East Hill Church of Christ where he had served as a deacon. Mike was also a long time leader of Cub Pack 172. He was married to Marilyn Scott on August 1 1, 1957 in Albion, NE.

Mike is survived by his wife Marilyn of York; daughters, Clarice (Brian) Kohlscheen of Norman, OK. and Marshel (Richard) Shewmake of Woodlands, TX.; sons, Scott (Kristine) Brown of Huron, SD., Paul (Theresa) Brown of Lincoln, NE and Albert Brown of West Columbia, TX..; nine grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother, Burke (Janice) Brown of Lampasas, TX and two sisters, Hannah (Tommy) Kendrick of Lometa, TX. and Peggy (Bill) Stokes of Sedalia, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Rachel Sue and Melissa, and a son-in-law, Donald Vaughn.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 17, 2005 at the East Hill Church of Christ in York with Bruce Goodwin and Rick Eldred officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Nebraska Youth Camp or the donor’s choice. Mike has been cremated and there will be no visitation. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Greenwood Cemetery in York.
