Michael Ochsner – Metz Mortuary

    Michael Ochsner
Michael Douglas Ochsner was born September 21, 1975 at Aurora, CO, and died December 5, 2022 in Lincoln, NE.

Mike was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jeffery Etherton, grandparents LaVerne and Irene Ochsner and Lue Jr. and Bonnie Etherton, and his half-brother James Ochsner.

He is survived by his wife Stacy of Lincoln, children Elijah and Caleb of Bellevue, NE, parents Douglas and Susan Ochsner of Maxwell, NE and Deb Etherton of Jefferson, IA, siblings Charles Ochsner (fiancée Desiree Perkins) of Maxwell, NE, Julie (Dean) Vanek of Omaha, NE, Adam (Laci) Ochsner of Dakota City, NE and Sara (fiancé Mark Renslow) Etherton of Grand Junction, IA, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him greatly.

Michael Douglas Ochsner was born in Aurora, CO. From there the family moved to York, NE, Panora, IA, and then to Scranton, IA, during Mike’s senior year in High School. He graduated from Paton/Churdan High School in 1995. In 2004, he married Misty Sheer in Coon Rapids, IA. From this union came two boys, Elijah and Caleb. In 2014 they moved to Lincoln, NE and in 2016 were divorced, but Mike made sure he was still a part of his boys’ lives.

Mike and Stacy met in 2018, and then married September 19, 2020. They had four fantastic years together.

Mike loved his family first and foremost, but it doesn’t end there. He also loved to “create” random stories just to make people laugh. He had a passion for smoking meat, and he shared that passion by cooking meat for many occasions. He loved road trips, fishing and garage sales. He also loved the 4th of July and wanted to be sent off in some fireworks, which will probably happen.

Mike was a very special man who will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. He will live on in many hearts.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York, with the Reverend Mike Neidow officiating. Cremation, no viewing, however, his family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at Metz Mortuary in York. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
