Michael Jay Stinson, Sr. age 64 of York, NE, died Sunday, May 25, 2025 in Lincoln, NE. He was born on September 22, 1960 to Robert and Kay (Hall) Stinson in Grand Junction, CO. He was a 1979 graduate of York High School.
Michael proudly served our country in the Nebraska Army National Guard. He was an electrician at Lundy Electric in York and had electrical contracts with different industries. Family was very important to him and he loved spending time with them. He enjoyed motocross and loved to travel. Michael was active in the York Fire Department starting out in the Explorer Program.
He is survived by his mother Kay Stinson of Ashland, NE, sister Brenda Schmidt of Ashland, brother James (Jane) Stinson of Omaha, NE, daughter Nicole Stinson of York, son Michael Stinson, Jr of York, grandsons Gaberial, Jacob and Adrik, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, and brother Patrick Stinson.
Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Metz Chapel in York. Inurnment with military honors will follow at York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Michael was cremated, there is no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
