    Milan Lee Blase 
    Milan Lee Blase age 71, of York, went to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, August 23, 2011. He was born February 7, 1940 to Arnold and Clara Dose Blase at Hampton. He attended school at Polk and York. Milan farmed for 54 years in Hamilton, York and Polk counties.

    He married Karen Nelson on August 2, 1959. They lived on the home place for 50 years, and then moved to York.

    He is survived by his wife, Karen, of York; three sons, Kim Blase of Bradshaw, Kevin Blase and his wife Jodie of Polk and Kurt Blase and his wife Renee of Doniphan.

    Also surviving are his grandchildren which include Kasey, Korey, and Jordyn Blase, Karlie and Joslyn Blase and Zachary and Trinity Blase; a sister Betty Anderson of Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers-in-law Charles (Shirley) Nelson of Central City and Bill (Judy) Nelson of Wahoo; sisters-in-law Ramona Maw of York, Ada Springer of Grand Island, Phyllis Nelson of Lincoln and many loving nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Blase, Clara Blase Parker and step-father Louis Parker; brothers-in-law Arnold Peters, Mert Springer, Dale Nelson and Don Maw and a sister-in-law JoEllen Peters.

    Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, York. Casual attire is welcome at the service. There will be no visitation. Private inurnment services will be at a later date at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Polk, Neb. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran School of Polk, Emmanuel Lutheran School of York or Heartland Lutheran High School of Grand Island.
