Mildred was married to Henry A. Epp on November 10, 1935 at the Bethesda Mennonite Church by her uncle Reverend A.W. Friesen. They celebrated 49 years together. They were blessed with three children, Elaine, Vernelle, and Willis.
Mom and Dad lived on a farm northeast of Henderson until December of 1969, when they moved into their new home in Henderson. After Dad passed away in January of 1985, Mom continued to live in her home until 2001 when she moved into Rosewood Court. She lived there until she broke her hip on April 21, 2008, and entered the Henderson Care Center, where she resided until her death.
Mom enjoyed being a homemaker and helping on the farm. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She was a past member of Mission Circle, Hospital Auxiliary, and the Henderson Garden Club.
Mildred is survived by her children, Elaine (Leo) Duerksen, Vernelle (Gerald) Friesen, and daughter-in-law Elvera Epp all of Henderson, 9 grandchildren and their spouses, 26 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Mildred is also survived by her brother, Carl Kroeker, sisters-in-law, Shirley Kroeker and Leona Epp, and brother-in-law, Harold (Marie) Epp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, son Willis, brothers Willard (Charlie), Rufus, Chester, sisters Bertha Janzen, Selma Kroeker, Esther Ratzlaff, and Darlene Kroeker.
Graveside services will be held at 9:15 a.m., Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Bethesda Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. at Bethesda Church in Henderson. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5pm-9pm and Friday from 9am-9pm with family greeting friends Friday evening from 6pm-8pm at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the Benevolent Fund or the MCC Canner.
