Myra L. Heegle, age 83 of Woodstock, GA formerly of Randolph, NE, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026 in Canton, GA. She was born on August 16, 1942 to George T. and Elizabeth (Epp) Friesen in York, NE. Myra was united in marriage to John A. Heegle on September 14, 1968 in Henderson, NE.
Well known in Randolph, Myra and John were the proprietors of the Cedar Motel and welcomed everyone with warmth and kindness. She was active in the Randolph Women’s Club and was a devoted member of the United Presbyterian Church in Laurel, NE. She loved baking, reading, and gardening, and was known for her compassion, gentle spirit and of course rhubarb coffee cake. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters Holly (Jeff) Wyke of Woodstock; Heidi Heegle of Woodstock; and grandchildren Emily and Claire Zinck of Woodstock. She is also survived by her brothers Marlyn (Maureen) Friesen of Freeman, SD and Clayton (Gilma) Friesen of Gretna, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Graveside services will be held at 1:15 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2026, in the Bethesda Cemetery near Henderson, followed by a Memorial service at 2:00 p.m., at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
