Nancy Catchpool – Metz Mortuary

    Nancy Catchpool, 77 years of age, of York, NE entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 16, 2016. 

    She was born April 26, 1938, to Stephen R. and Mary Alice (Boll) Harvey in Warren County, IA.

    Nancy was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in York and was also involved in the Community Garden, Meals on Wheels and Youth Mentoring Programs.

    She was an Avon Representative for 45 years in the York community and had also been employed at the American Legion Club. She took great pride in her gardening and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many, many friends, by whom she will be truly missed.

    She is survived by her husband Stanley Catchpool of York, NE. Also, sons Gary (Sue) Root of Waverly their children Adam (Tawnya) Root, great-grandchildren Zenna and Hartley Root and Nathan (Debra) Root all of Waverly, NE. Janet Root and children Jesse and Nikki Roholt of Phoenix, AZ. David (Dawn) Root and sons Blake and Adam and great-grandchildren Jade, Marley and Kane of Bertrand, NE. Kris (Gene) Green and son

    Ryan Will all of York, NE. Brenda (Dave) Smidt and grandchildren Travis and Bryce Smidt of Omaha, NE. Greg (Kerrie) Catchpool and great-grandchildren Ansley, Braeden and Connor Catchpool of Hastings, NE. Scott Catchpool and great-granddaughter Mckenzie of Omaha, NE.

    Also surviving brother Kenneth Harvey, Loveland, CO; sister and brother in-law Franny and Tom Lines, of Cedar Falls, lA, sister in-law Sylvia Poehler, of Waverly,IA and brothers Ronald (Nancy) Catchpool of Cedar Falls, IA and Donald Catchpool of Vackus, MN.

    Preceding her in death, her parents, brother Gene Harvey and sister and brother in-law Deana and Warren Gideon and sister in-law Maggie Harvey.

    Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in York with the Reverend Art Phillips officiating. Cremation, no visitation. Luncheon served at the church following services. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials to First United Methodist Church, York, NE.  ​
