Olga Kliewer – Metz Mortuary

    Olga Kliewer, age 86 of Henderson, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Henderson. 

    She was born on the family farm on June 13, 1927 in York County to Benjamin P. and Anna (Regier) Buller. Olga graduated from McCool Jct. High School in 1945. Following graduation she taught in a country school for three years.

    Olga was united in marriage to Benjamin R. Kliewer on Feb. 25, 1949. To this union three sons, Larry, Donald and Alan, were born. Benjamin passed away in March of 1971.

    Olga worked at Service Press, the telephone office, the Henderson school lunch room, and was a cook for the Henderson Hospital. She was a lifelong member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church where she was baptized on May 27, 1945.

    Olga was very active in the church, teaching Sunday School, Bible School, and singing in both the mixed chorus and the ladies choir. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and reading.

    Survivors include her sons, Larry (Ruth) Kliewer and Donald (Diane) Kliewer of Henderson and Alan Kliewer of Lincoln; grandchildren, Sara (Joe) Augustyn of Lincoln, Tyler Kliewer of Norfolk, Allen Kliewer of ONeill and Austin (Tabitha) Kliewer of Campbell. Olga is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and Riley Kliewer of Campbell.

    Also surviving are brother and sister-in-law, Abe and Alice Buller and sister, Irene Block of Henderson; sister, Frieda Noel of Bosie Idaho; sister-in-law, Susie Buller of Henderson; brother and sister-in-law, John R. and June Kliewer; sister and brother-in-law, Alma and Louie Siebert and sister-in-law, Jennie Kliewer all of Henderson.

    Olga was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, John and Benny Buller; sister, Elsie Block; brothers-in-law, John Block, Abe Block and Duane Noel; brother and sisters-in-law, Albert and Rachel Kliewer and Henry and Gussie Kliewer.

    Graveside services will be held at 9:45 a.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Bethesda Cemetery in Henderson. Memorial services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Bethesda Mennonite Church. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday at Metz Mortuary, Henderson. The family will be present to greet friends Monday evening from 6-8 pm. Memorials may be directed to MCC through the church or the donor’s choice.
